WASP Patch

WOMEN AIRFORCE SERVICE PILOTS (WASPs) were the first women to fly military aircraft. Within 2 years, WASPS flew 60 million miles from the fastest fighters to the heaviest bomber. Only 1,830 applicants were accepted. Thirty-eight WASPS died in the line-of-duty and did not receive any honors or recognition, not even a flag to cover their coffins.
